Hi-5 Bread Factory Visit

I love bread.Especially the smell of bread when ummi bakes bread. This time I wanna share with you my visit to one of the nation's famous bread factory - the Hi-5.The trip was arranged by ummi for her group of students from Hong Kong who came recently for a short course. It was Friday and we arrived at the factory at about 11.30am and unfortunately we haven't had our breakfast yet..!Therefore, the smell of the bread was very irresistible and suddenly my stomach got very cranky.Upon arrival (they only entertain trip by appointment only),we were showed the video of the history of bread and its evolution.I quite not really understand what it said,hehe..but from the videos I knew that bread has its existence since very very long time.Next was the best part.Journey to the bread museum..but wait..!Before you can really enter the museum, we have to shout loudly..HI 5!(remember the late P.Ramlee's movie..ya inseng matakaji semarang ngiseng) sort of..and the door OPENS..!!

Watching the video presentation

Hi-5..!Hi-5!Hi-5!..and the door to the museum opens..P

camera was not allowed but ummi managed to capture few photos discreetly..sshhh..

In medieval Europe, bread served not only as a staple food but also as part of the table service or table manners.

At the end of the trip, we were brought to the bread shop where we can buy all sorts of breads, cakes and snacks under the brand name of hi-5 or silverbird. We were also given a bag of goodies each with a loaf of hi-5 bread and few other breads. For me this trip is certainly very informative as I learned a lot the whole thing about BREAD..! Thumbs up hi-5!

MY FIRST TRIP TO UK

My First Trip to UK

They say ‘Journey of a Thousand Miles Begin with a Single Step’. Yet it is so true enough because I learnt my first step in the UK! It took me far away to learn to walk ;P. I was one-year old when I had my first trip to the UK. I could still remember that tiring endless 12 hour journey by flight. There were four of us including ummi, tok wan, wan zah and of course cutie little me. ;P

I was told now that the trip was to attend uncle DD’s graduation for his tahfiz which he had successfully completed with flying colours. He studied tahfiz (memorization of Al-Quran) at Darul Uloom in UK. We went there for about 16 days and the weather was not so cold but still I was shivering.

Apart from attending uncle DD’s grand event, we didn’t miss the must-see places in London such as The Trafalgar Square, The London Bridge, The Big Ben, The London Eye and also not forgetting to hop on the double-decker bus. Owwhh..we also took photograph at the red telephone box-the icon of England designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1920.
